Requirements for Employees/ Contractors
At Bwell Healthcare, Inc., we recognize our personnel are our greatest assets for they add value to our business daily and that is the reason why we constantly develop and implement steps to recruit and retain the best.
We do require our applicants to satisfy the following items, as applicable, before employment considerations can be granted.
- Must submit a Resume and/ or fill an Application Form.
- Present Applicable Professional Certificates/ Licenses.
- Copy of Driver’s License/ State Issued Identification Document.
- Copy of Social Security Card.
- I – 9 and Work Authorization (If applicable).
- CPR Certification for Caregivers plus Basic First Aid.
- Physician Physical Clearance reports that include TB, Tetanus and Hepatitis B with Signed Declination Letter.
- Professional References and Personal References.
- Professional Liability Insurance.
- Submit to criminal background checks through Criminal Justice Information System (C]IS) – Office of the Maryland Department of Public Safety.
- Submit to Skills Assessments, Orientation and Periodic In-House Training Sessions.
- Must sign “Transportation Waiver Declaration Form”.
Applicants with positive criminal history will not be considered for employment due to the nature of services the agency provides its clients.
Yes, we do verify applicable licenses/ certificates, employment history, contact applicant’s identified character references, and document the entire hiring process.
Other Health Requirements for Employees/ Contractors – (Careproviders)
Prospective caregiver applicants must present proof of physical fitness and wellness before employment that include a complete physical exam, no more than one year old, immunizations (Hepatitis B series, Tetanus, MMR, Rubella, Varicella) Drug Screen report and PPD every year or two with negative chest x-rays.
At Bwell Healthcare, Inc. we do require our employees/contractors to submit to two steps PPD prior to employment in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA’s) guidelines.
We do offer our employees/contractors hepatitis B vaccine by referrals to clinics and they are required to sign a declination statement, if they chose not to take the vaccine, as per Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.
Applicants should note that a positive PPD after the test shot does not necessarily mean that they have TB. The next step is for them to take chest X-ray and as long as that result is clear (which it probably will be unless they are coughing, have fever, night sweats or sudden weight loss), we will consider them for employment.
This policy is to ensure that all clinical employees meet the required federal and state health standards and are free from communicable disease and pose no threat to public or patients.
Interview (Skills Assessments and Skills Demonstrations) for Applicants
Selected applicants must submit to face-to-face interview with agency representative(s) in order to determine position skills competency and evaluate skill demonstrations.
Our interviewers attach great value to specific experience in line of position applied for, thus Pediatric, Adolescent and Geriatric caregivers must possess and demonstrate related skills to that assignments in order to be considered for employment.
Applicants for healthcare positions are scrutinized about medical processes and expected to demonstrate familiarity with both process and equipments essentials to perform their duties.
All applicants are expected to demonstrate skills, experience with great attention to details before they can receive favorable employment considerations.
Personnel records are compiled from the first day of contact with our agency as applicants.
Information obtained during the admission process, including health documentations and background checks will be maintained confidentially, safeguarded and properly disposed of, appropriately.
